A very generous private donor just challenged us with a $25,000 Matching Grant!

 Now we Need YOUR Help!

 Dear Museum Friend,

2020 BVM Celebrates Our 25th year serving our community and visitors as a Science resource.  We hope you know all of the amazing and unique educational programs that we offer to our community. If not, visit us at 2018 Chester Ave. It takes a lot to keep our programs going and growing! There are always more plans than funds to bring them to fruition, and this is an incredible opportunity for us, but we need YOUR help...

Your donation will be DOUBLED!!

Every donation we receive until March 31st, 2020 will be matched up to $25,000, That’s up to $50,000 that could come our way as we celebrate our Silver Anniversary! What would your funds be used for? We want to engage MORE 21st Century Technology to make Science come alive at Buena Vista Museum. Our recently installed I-sandbox has been a huge success. It allows kids to create and shape landforms, simulate volcanic eruptions, and visualize other processes of the Earth in real time simply by shaping sand with their hands.  Your funds will allow us to create and install more interactive, hands-on exhibits.

With your help, we hope to create and install six Touch Screen Kiosks.  The kiosks will inform visitors about our displays via computer graphics and animations. Imagine seeing a Kern County shark tooth fossil, and then seeing graphics on a screen that show how that shark lived in the ocean that once covered Bakersfield. These kiosks will engage youngsters though technology to learn science in a fun way.

No donation is too small, it all adds up and helps us reach our goal of $50,000!  I thank you in Advance, for your help in reaching the full goal of this Matching Donation.

With sincere gratitude,

Koral Hancharick, BVM Executive Director
